ShipOrbit Internet Pvt. Ltd. ("ShipOrbit", "we", "our") operates the shiporbit.in platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, store details, and shipping addresses — when you create an account or use our services. We also collect usage data (pages visited, features used, timestamps) to improve the product, and technical data (IP address, browser type, device identifiers) for security and performance monitoring.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve ShipOrbit, process shipments and payments, send transactional emails (booking confirmations, tracking updates, COD remittance notices), respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data sharing
We share data with courier partners to the extent necessary to book and track shipments (pickup address, delivery address, declared value, weight). We also share data with payment processors for wallet top-ups and COD remittances, and with cloud infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
4. Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We use analytics cookies to understand how the product is used in aggregate. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings; this will not affect core functionality.
5. Data retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Shipment records are retained for seven years to support dispute resolution and compliance with Indian tax regulations. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us; we will delete personal data within 30 days except where retention is required by law.
6. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) to protect your data. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel and is logged. We conduct periodic security reviews and promptly address vulnerabilities. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure — please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication when available.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You may also object to certain processing or request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@shiporbit.in. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of ShipOrbit after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
